The movie Lucy is a movie that is created by French director Luc Besson and released on August 6, 2014, it is a movie that features a young a woman from Taiwan. In this movie, we learn that humans use only 10 percent of their total brain capacity. This girl, gets kidnapped by Chinese mobsters and these traffickers insert a drug into her abdomen.
This drug gives the girl abilities that seem superhuman as it gives her one hundred percent of the total capacity of her brain. Although this film is science fiction, it really makes me imagine that humans may be able to really try to harness the full capacity of the brain.
This film reminds me a bit of Elon Musk's project which wants to implant chips in the brain that can allow us to remotely control computers, but also to cure neurological diseases such as paralysis. This project is sold as revolutionary, but is it really a good thing for human beings, we are not sure. So science fiction films are just films that imagine the future and are made to be made.
Perhaps in a few decades we will all have a chip implanted in a part of our body and it will really treat neurological disorders. Tests have already been carried out on monkeys and a paralysed man has already volunteered to test this new chip. What we imagine as the future is finally happening little by little before our eyes, I really wonder how life will be in 30 years.
